[Solved] How to delete chat history from WhatsApp in Blackberry Curve[Solved]
There are 2 ways to delete the chat history: Partial and Complete.
1. Partial
Go to WhatsApp's setting and turn off the message history option which is by default selected as media card. Now restart the phone by pulling out the battery or by pressing Left Alt + Right Shift + Del at the same time.
It will not delete any chat also if you scroll upward through the chats you'll find that the partial history is gone.
Chats can be manually deleted one at a time, however the partial history will be still present the next time you try to initiate a chat with those contacts.
2. Complete
Go to WhatsApp's setting and turn off the message history option which is by default selected as media card. Now exit WhatsApp and go to Media, in options click on Explore. Select Media Card and then click on databases. Inside the databases folder go to WhatsApp folder and delete all the files present in the folder (those files are chat databases). While deleting, if any files gives the error "this file is already in use" make sure message history option is turned off in WhatsApp's setting. Once all the files are deleted in the WhatsApp database folder, exit the explorer and restart the phone by pulling out the battery or by pressing Left Alt + Right Shift + Del at the same time.
After the phone have restarted, please turn on the message history option in WhatsApp's setting and select Media Card.
Done!!

ReplyDeleteFor some reason the option for switching off message history is not available in my phone. I have a blackberry 9220. The drop down menu only has "media card" option available. These msgs are taking up a lot of space. Please help.
ReplyDeleteRemove or unmount the media card from the phone and check if it works.
DeleteI only want to permanently delete some of my chats, i.e. those from people I no longer correspond with as they are cluttering up my memory. How do I do this please?
